This poster exclusively focuses on a single pose and its variations: Viparita Dandasana.
In Sanskrit, 'Viparita' means reverse, and 'Danda' translates to staff or rod.
While a Hindu devotee traditionally prostrates before the Lord by lying flat on the floor, face downwards, with hands outstretched, the Yogi on the other hand prostrates himself in the graceful inverted arch.
This invigorating pose not only maintains the health of the spine but also allows the chest to expand fully. The pose has a very soothing effect on the mind, so that the emotionally disturbed find a great boon.
All my illustrations are handmade with love to bring joy and inspire your yoga practice. Colors may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
